Laundry Carts are Missing, Can you HELP?

June 12, 2010

During the past two months we have lost two of the laundry carts.  This is a very unfortunate situation as each of these has a replacement cost of about $175.00.  During the previous four years we lost only one.  Now within two months, we have lost two.

It is very unfortunate because austerity prevents us from replacing these.

PLEASE, if you see one of our carts in the local area, bring it back.  If you see someone leaving with a cart, call us and we will deal with it.

This is everyone’s Laundry Facility so please help us to keep it convenient for everyone.

Thanks,

Thanks for understanding, help is on the way!

April 28, 2010

We have suddenly had a rash of troubled wash machines.  Today, four of the machines are “out-of-order”.  Well, help is on the way!!  The repair guy from Speed Queen will be there this Friday the 30th.  We should have everything back in proper running order at that time.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hours of Operation at Janet’s Coin Laundry, Portland, OR

April 24, 2010

Janet’s Coin Laundry is open 365 days a year from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.  We notice that there are people who arrive as we open and get in and out before the crowds arrive  And there are those who come in towards the end of the evening and also avoid the crowds.

These hours seem to be working well for everyone.

Please note that the doors lock automatically, so be careful to not leave items inside  as you leave.  You may not be able to get back in.  If you do get locked out, our only advice is to be there by 5:45 am so you can be the first one in the door.

Doors open at 5:45am

Please exit by 10:00pm, doors auto lock and our security may ask you to leave. This is for security and alarm purposes.

Thank you for your support and business.

Is your Laundry Missing?

April 9, 2010

Infrequently we receive a call from one of our patrons who has lost some or all of their laundry.  Believe it or not, it does happen!

Usually one of two situations has occurred:

 1)                 When we find laundry that has been left in one of the machines, we remove it and place it in a secured area.  Most of the time the owner will call and we make arrangements to return it to them.  This is the good scenario.

 2)                 Once in a great while someone will call to inquire if we have retrieved their laundry only to discover that we never saw it.

It can be very expensive and inconvenient when your laundry disappears.  Please stay with your laundry.  Do not go and run errands leaving your laundry for others.

Useful SOAP & Loading tips

March 28, 2010

Using High Efficiency Speed Queen machines,  the recommended soap will vary for machine size. For our washers try the following;

5 load washer use 1 cup

3 load washer use 3/4 cup

2 load washer use 1/4 to 1/2 cup

Load machine and leave a little space between top of drum and clothes, load soap and optional liquid fabric softener. Insert coins, select cycle and temperature, start wash.

The clothes should have room to move around inside the wash drum, to wash and rinse properly. If the clothes are tightly packed, your clothes may have dry spots when the wash is complete or soil will not wash out. These machines are not top loader agitators. These are front load eco friendly washers, uses less water and offer better life longevity for your clothes.
